Pathways to College or Apprenticeship

If you're planning to apply to college or an apprenticeship program, we can help.

The Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) program is designed for adult learners who need to meet college entry requirements.

We'll assess your current abilities and build a learning plan around your needs.
Example: You might be at Level 5 in English but Level 2 in Math — and we’ll customize your study plan to help you succeed in both.

Essential Skills Training

We provide training in Canada’s 9 Essential Skills, as defined by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC):

Reading Text – e.g., notes, letters, reports, forms
Document Use – e.g., tables, charts, maps, blueprints
Numeracy – e.g., estimating, measuring, calculating
Writing – e.g., memos, logs, instructions, reports
Oral Communication – e.g., speaking, persuading, instructing
Working with Others – individually or in teams
Computer Use – e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets
Continuous Learning – staying updated through training
Thinking Skills – e.g., decision-making, organizing, problem-solving

We are a Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) program funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
